Answer: The biggest mistake we see is that people simply underestimate the amount of linkbuilding necessary. BMR is a potent tool, but you have to give it a chance to succeed. Here are the recommended minimums we suggest after sending thousands of posts ourselves through Build My Rank:
- Send a minimum of 100 posts a month – Unless you’re in a super easy niche, you simply have to give it a real chance for success and sending 10 posts in a month is simply not enough to do anything. Depending on your site’s linkbuilding history, we recommend going to the maximum of 10 a day or 300 a month. However, if your site has very little history of linkbuilding or is a new (less than six months old) site then you should probably stay in the 4 to 7 posts a day range. We personally max it out for every one of our domains at 10 a day.
- Don’t Choose Too Many Keywords – For a 100 posts depending on your niche you might want to send them to between 1 and 4 keywords. We frequently get people that order 25 posts for 25 different keywords. Now, we are not privy to all of the other linkbuilding that they are doing, but expecting to have success with BMR making one post per keyword is just simply a false expectation.
Answer: This will vary by niche and depending upon your goals, but generally we would suggest 20 or more posts per keyword per month as a minimum. We have some people that do 200 a month all to the same keyword because they are in a very competitive niche and are looking to move up on a top ranking existing keyword that is at #3 for example and trying to go to #2.
Answer: What we would recommend is that you order 25 posts and send them all to the same keyword at a rate of about 1 to 3 posts per day in Build My Rank. Furthermore, the keyword that you pick is important. To really properly test the effectiveness of BMR, choose a keyword that is in positions #15 thru #30 in its current rankings and use it for your test. We also recommend targeting a keyword with a local exact monthly search count below 5,000 for the purposes of this test. Note the ranking when you start, throw 25 posts at it at about 1 to 3 a day, and note the progress over two to three weeks. This is just a “general” recommendation for a minimalist test, a better choice would be to send 50 posts over 30 days for your keyword. It’s important that you first see that it can work for you, and then tune it over time for your specific niche and/or site.
